What are Lip fillers?
Lip and dermal fillers are substances injected into your face. They fill lines and wrinkles and add volume to areas such as lips. Fillers are not permanent, the fillers contain a natural substance called Hyaluronic acid that gives us smooth, youthful skin. Hyaluronic acid decreases in volume as we age, leaving behind lines and wrinkles and other signs of ageing, dermal fillers replace oils.
How is the procedure performed?
The area is numbed with a cream prior to the injections. The process of injecting, massaging and evaluating the result is performed and additional filler is added as needed. The whole process may be as short as fifteen minutes or as long as an hour depending on the area being treated. Discomfort should be minimal during your treatment.
How long do lip and dermal fillers last?
Fillers are not permanent, they usually last between six and eighteen months depending on the filler used and the area treated.
Afterwards
The area may be a bit red, sore and swollen. Any swelling or bruising should settle down in a few days. A cold compress or arnica cream can be applied to alleviate the area.
How should I care for the area afterwards?
