What is IPL skin rejuvenation?
IPL treatments work very well to reduce and remove brown and red spots on the skin and create an overall better complexion.
How does it work?
The powerful light generated penetrates down to the second layer of the dermis without harming the top layer (Epidermis) The pigment cells in your skin absorb the light energy which is converted into heat. The heat destroys the unwonted pigment to clear up freckles and other spots.
Does the treatment hurt?
The sensation can feel hot and tingly, some people describe it as being flicked with a hot elastic band. The process is very quick so the pain does not last for long.
Who can have IPL?
IPL treatment is not always suitable for everyone
- Not as effective on light blonde, red, white and grey hair as there is not enough contrast in pigment between the hair and the skin
- Not generally suitable for dark skin tones for the same reasons
- The best candidates for IPL are those with pale to medium skin and dark hair
Treatment is not recommended for?
